It’s seconds all around this season of The Biggest Loser. The theme for the television show, in its eighth season, is “Second Chances” and this is the second season that Philips Respironics has assisted the NBC series. The company organized the effort and enlisted the involvement of Advanced Sleep Medicine Services Inc., Nationwide Medical Inc., and Dr. Clete Kushida, a neurologist and sleep specialist from Stanford University Medical Center to provide comprehensive diagnostics, therapy, and a follow-up program for the show’s contestants. All 16 of the contestants were found to have OSA after the initial, pre-season testing. In addition to consultations, Philips Respironics provided its latest advancements in sleep therapy including REMstar Auto M Series with A-Flex, the new FitLife and FullLife masks, along with a variety of others, Stardust II Sleep Recorders, RUSleeping RTS Apneic Event Screeners, WristOx Ambulatory Digital Pulse Oximeter, sensors, and EncoreAnywhere. ![]() The Biggest Loser’s Ron Morelli with sons Max and Mike and Pam Minkley of Philips Respironics.
